
The media planner’s duties are usually categorized in one of two areas: preparation or execution.
During preparation media planners:

Analyze a client's account to understand the advertising and business goals

Clarify the target audience for the client and their advertsiment

Analayze responses of those gorups to different ads

Work with creative agency teams to define the most effective campaign strategies

Reasearch and analyze success and failures in different platform areas

Decide the most appropriate platforms to release the campaign

Propse the selected strategy to the client
In the execution stage media planners:

Work with other departments and media buyers or with a special agency

Contact newspapers, magazines, websites, to spread the range of the campaign

Proofread advertisements before they are released

Keep records of the campaign's success and failure

Evaluate the overall effect of the advertisment
